Residential buildings
In the residential sector steel can offer products and services for every type of property ranging from individual houses, through key worker and student accommodation to exclusive apartment blocks.

Birmingham 1
Birmingham 1 is an impressive student halls of residence scheme in south-west Birmingham which houses over 600 students in a state-of-the-art complex. Corefast contributed significantly to the project by reducing the number of structural cores required and by enhancing health and safety on site.

Southgate
Corefast was specified for a Scottish residential developer’s largest-ever project, the exciting Southgate scheme in Glasgow, comprising 335 apartments. Corefast helped speed up construction on site as the contractor benefited from the accuracy of the pre-installed fixings enabling rapid connections to be made to the steel frame.

Bourbon Lane
The requirement on this project was for a wide range of housing types fitting in with the urban surround, which maximised the use of space whilst retaining an open feel to the development.

Zero 4
A switch from a concrete frame to steel construction using Slimdek has been a major factor in the success of a complex city centre residential project.
The Lighthouse
The Lighthouse forms part of Bellway Homes' Prospect Place development overlooking Cardiff Bay. The L-shaped structure has a 12-storey main block and a 60-storey wing and comprises 20 studios, 24 one-bedroom and 58 two-bedroom apartments as well as four penthouses. This high rise residential development was originally conceived and gained planning approval as a reinforced concrete structure, but was ultimately built using steel.

Platinum Point
The Platinum Point development at Leith is a luxury residential regeneration project that comprises five interconnecting 11 and 13-storey blocks containing apartments and penthouses on Edinburgh's waterfront. The Slimdek flooring system was adopted to allow higher ceilings as well as maximising the number of floor levels within the building height.

Media City
Zero4 is a new city centre development with retail outlets on the ground floor and luxury apartments above. The ten-storey residential block will contain 120 flats, from one-bedroom studio flats up to three-bedroom duplex apartments on the upper levels.
