Modular construction - design
'Modular construction' is a term that is used for the factory production of pre-engineered building units that are delivered to site and assembled as large volumetric components or as substantial elements of a building. The modular units may form complete rooms, parts of rooms, or separate highly serviced units such as toilets or lifts.
Composition of modules
Each module consists of six structural light steel frames; constructed using galvanised cold-form sections that form the walls, floor and ceiling of the module
Design life
Subject to the implementation of an effective and regular regime of maintenance throughout the life of the building, it is anticipated that a design life of in excess of 60 years can be achieved on the steel modular construction, ancillary steel framing and metalwork elements.
Module performance
The Corus Living Solutions modular system exceeds the minimum requirements of the Building Regulations in relation to airborne and impact sound insulation.
Quality in design
The design team at Living Solutions are committed to offering a choice and quality.
