Eurocodes
The introduction of the Eurocodes will be the largest single change in codified design in living memory.
Corus will actively support designers through this transition period, and are already working with its partners (the BCSA and the Steel Construction Institute) on a number of Eurocode initiatives.
The first package of guidance documentation is well underway and will be available during 2008 when the National Annexes are published. This initial suite of five publications comprises:
Introduction to the Eurocodes
Concise Eurocode for steel building design
Section properties & member resistances
Design of medium rise steel-framed building
Worked examples (for open sections)
Web-based training information is also being produced through the pan-European STEEL project, training courses on steel design to the Eurocodes are planned, and further guidance publications will roll off the presses throughout the transition period.
