The Corus Student Awards Bridges & Structures aim to give structural engineering students an opportunity to display their engineering design skills in the use of structural steelwork in an innovative and effective way.
By taking part you will have the chance to explore not only the design issues but also you will also gain experience of trying to work as a consultant and satisfying an exacting design brief.
The Corus Student Awards are run as two competitions with one focused on the design of structural steelwork in relation to a building and the other focusing on the design of a steel bridge. The current (2009) brief is to design a structure to enclose an Indoor winter sports facility, comprising of an artificial ski slope, an ice skating rink and a climbing wall.
