Corus provides envelope solution for new business park
28 Oct 2009
Corus Panels and Profiles, part of the leading metal producer Corus, has supplied 10,500m2 of its innovative Trisomet® 333 System to ensure the successful delivery of a new £3.5million wholesale fruit facility at Priory Park Business Park in Hull.
Facilitated by local Hull contractor Ispace, the move and development of the new fruit market will see 12 established businesses move from their current 200-year old premises in Humber Street to a new 70,000 sq ft purpose built site at Priory Park. Due to be officially opened in October 2009, the relocation of the facility to new premises enables the existing site to be incorporated into the redevelopment of Hull’s Marina area, contributing to the wider regeneration programme being delivered across the city.
Lorenz Ethrington, Contracts Manager, L H Sleightholme Ltd comments: “Like any large-scale project, the Priory Park development required a product capable of meeting both the stringent technical requirements, as well as the tight contract period demanded by the main contractor.
Trisomet® 333 System immediately lent itself to the project by virtue of its thermal and air tightness performance combined with speed of installation. Ideally suited for fast track projects, the Corus Trisomet® 333 insulated panel system manufactured under factory controlled conditions, allowed the completion of the building within the required timescales.
In addition, we were also able to minimise the visual impact of the finished scheme on the surrounding area by specifying Corus Colorcoat Verso® in Heritage Green to ensure the development complimented and blended with the surrounding environment.”
Manufactured in factory-controlled conditions, Trisomet® 333 System is a robust, made to measure insulated roof and wall panel system that can be installed quickly and efficiently, bringing significant time and cost savings to any construction programme. A high performance building envelope solution comprising a spaced trapezoidal steel external skin, Trisomet® 333 provides optimum performance for water drainage, strength and walkability.
Mark Clemson, Commercial Director – Building Envelope, Corus Panels and Profiles comments: “At Corus we are continually looking to deliver the most sustainable products available in the market. Trisomet® 333 System is manufactured on our state-of-the-art insulated panel production line located next to the Colorcoat® line reduces transport movements and cost for the delivery of raw stock material thereby reducing associated CO2 emissions. The systems insulated foam core uses the latest technology to produce the highest standard of thermal and air-tightness performance. Trisomet® 333 System foam core also has a zero ozone depleting potential (ODP) to ensure that the building envelope achieves the highest environmental standards”.
