Bearing piles
Bearing piles are used mostly for supporting vertical loads. They restrict average and differential settlement and achieve an adequate factor of safety or load factor against foundation failure.
Increased foundation loads are well catered for by steel bearing piles. Both H and Tubular piles are capable of carrying large load capacities. This form of piling offers many advantages over other systems.
Benefits
- Reduced foundation construction time
- Reliable section properties
- High ductility that can reduce stress
- Higher end bearing resistance in grandular soils
- Easily removed for site reinstatement
- Reusable or recyclable following extraction
- Closer spacing possible
Corus produce a range of sizes from 203 X 203 X 45 kg/m up to 356 x 368 x 174 kg/m.
