Gas List conveyance pipe is produced to BSEN 10255, and is used in the Heating & Ventilation market, Fire Defence industry, as well as for walkways and guard-rails.
Gas List is available in the following end/surface finishes: -
- Plain ended
- Screwed and socketed ends
- Varnished
- Self-colour
- Red primer painted
- Galvanised
Dimensions and Properties: -
- Standard lengths available are 6m or 6.4m (other lengths available upon request)
- Length tolerances +150mm/-0mm
- Size range 8mm-150mm nominal bore
- Covered by BS 1387 - referring to 'Light', 'Medium', 'Heavy' tubes. DIN 2440 and DIN 2441 are the equivalent German standards.
Gas List material has to be leak tightness tested, either by hydrotesting to 50 bar, or by eddy current testing. Corus currently uses the method of eddy current testing.
The material can be bent, but bending to very tight radii is not recommended. The bending radii is also dependant on surface finish and whether the material is hot or cold bent.
The minimum radius for each thickness is: -
- Heavy all sizes 3d radius
- Heavy 125 and 150 - 5d radius
- Medium uti 100 5d radius
Galvanised tube should not be hot bent. Cold bending of galvanised tube is not generally recommended, but if it is essential, the bending radius should not be less than 8D (where D=the outside diameter of the tube.)
