Slimdek® is an engineered floor solution developed to offer a cost-effective, service-integrated, minimal depth floor for use in multi-storey steel framed buildings with grids up to 9 metres x 9 metres.

Slimdek is an engineered flooring solution with ComFlor® 225 deep decking spanning between Asymmetric Slimflor Beams (ASBs) and/or Rectangular Hollow Slimflor Beams (RHSFBs).

ComFlor 225 decking is a cold formed profile capable of spanning up to 6.5m unpropped and gives up to 2 hours fire resistance with an unprotected soffit. The re-entrant section to the top flange enhances composite action and offers easy service fixing.

The Asymmetric Slimflor Beam (ASB) is part of the Advance sections range and was specifically designed for use with deep decking. The degree of asymmetry between the widths of the top and bottom flanges is approximately 60%, and the top flange is embossed to enhance composite action with the concrete encasement.

At the perimeter of the building, it is often structurally more efficient and architecturally desirable, to use an edge beam formed by welding a plate to the underside of a Rectangular Hollow Section. This arrangement is particularly good at resisting torsional forces caused by eccentric loading on the beam.

The system was developed to offer a cost-effective, service-integrated, minimal depth floor for use in multi-storey steel-framed buildings with grids up to 9m x 9m and extends the range of cost-effective steel options for modern buildings. Ease of planning and servicing, combined with a reduction in building height, gives significant cost and speed of construction benefits.
