Composite panel manufacture
The fabrication of composite panels involves sandwiching PIR (Polyisocynurate) foam between two profiled pre-finished steel sheets. Coils weighing around 7 tonnes are loaded onto the line and the liner (or inside) sheet is fed into the roll forming machines and profiled to a given specification. The ‘weather’ (or outside) sheets are manufactured “off-line” and are manually fed into the line by taping them together. This not only gives continuity of flow but also creates the overlap required during construction.
