Rolling
Whatever the product, the principles of hot rolling are the same. Steel is squeezed between rolls until the final thickness and shape are achieved. To do this the rolls must exert forces of tens of millions of newtons.
Tube manufacturing
Steel tube has a wide variety of uses including pipelines, off shore applications but it is also extensively used in the construction industry. Tube sizes up to 500mm diameter are made from flat steel strip.
